The Christmas Angel Tree project
The aim with the project is to imprisoned parents and their children should be able to reconnect. Parents are given a Christmas card on which they can write a message to their child. They also tell where the child are and what they would like to give their child as a Christmas present. At Christmas the presents and gifts are then transmitted personally to the children along with a children’s Bible. The children, in turn, can write and make drawings that they send to their parents. This is a step in the direction to repair broken family relationships. In some prisons in Russia, Christmas Angel Tree have received permission to organize Christmas party where families can meet. The project is part of the Prison Mission’s work in St. Petersburg.
